Trustees from the Exmouth Hospital League of Friends received a demonstration of a portable ultrasound scanner. Thanks to generous donations and fund raising events, the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) was able to expand and purchase necessary equipment in 1965 with a welcome donation of £3,150 and again in 2005 with a further donation of £133,300 provided by The League of Friends of Exmouth Hospital.
