For several years, the Trustees have been asking for the removal of the giant fir tree outside Geoffrey Willoughby ward which had become massively overgrown and dangerous. Finally in March it was removed, providing light for the ornamental garden and the floral displays outside Doris Heard ward provided by the League of Friends. Its removal has also made Doris Heard and Geoffrey Willoughby wards much lighter creating a better environment for the patients and staff.
